Europe

European countries welcome more than 480 million international visitors per year, more than half of the global market and 7 of the 10 most visited countries are European nations. Although it is the world's smallest continent in land surface area, there are profound differences between the cultures and ways of life in its countries.

Europe's climate ranges from subtropical near the Mediterranean Sea in the south, to subarctic near the Barents Sea and Arctic Ocean in the northern latitudes.

North America

The continent is bounded on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the west by the Pacific Ocean and the Bering Sea, and on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. North America, because of its vast size has very varied climatic regions.

Five major climatic regions can be identified, the first being the tropical climate in Southern Mexico, the second, the mild climate with wet winters and virtually rainless summers of the Pacific zone along the coastal regions from southern Alaska to southern California.

While the history of North America is not as ancient as Europe, what it lacks in millennia old structures it makes up for in ethnic diversity and sprawling metropolises, ranging from places like New York City, New Orleans, Denver, and Seattle in the United States section of North America, to places like Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton, and Quebec in Canada.

South America occupies the southern portion of the landmass and it is a sub-continent crossed by the equator, with most of its area in the Southern Hemisphere. The Caribbean

The Caribbean Islands

The Caribbean is a region consisting of the Caribbean Sea, its islands and the surrounding coasts.

The region is located southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and North America, east of Central America, and to the north of South America.

Central America

Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. It is the southernmost, isthmian portion of the North American continent. Geographically part of North America, it is made up of seven small, mostly tropical countries that have much more in common with South America and Mexico than the more affluent north.

Mexico is occasionally considered part of Central America due to the language and indigenous/Hispanic cultural heritage it shares with several of the countries in the region.

Antarctica is a continent of many contradictions, from volcanoes that are erupting from a frozen landscape to miles of ice and snow. A layer of ice is build up to two miles covering the continent as big as the Mexico and United States together. Antarctic ice contains more than 70% of the world's fresh water.

Antarctica is the best place on the planet to find meteorites. Dark meteorites show up against the white expanse of ice and snow. The nearest landmasses are South America and Australia.

Antarctica is the most southerly continent located about the Geographic South Pole, the southern point of the Earth's rotational axis. Antarctica is a large land mass buried under a vast ice cap and surrounded by oceans.
