Koh Phangan is an island situated just off the Central Gulf Coast of Southern Thailand, famous for its full moon party at Haad Rin Beach, held on full moon night every month. Koh Phangan has two sister islands, the larger Koh Samui to the south and the smaller Ko Tao to the north. Koh Phangan has many beautiful beaches and bays. What began as a small party that was celebrated by a few people has now become a huge party on the beach with all kinds of music. The island offers many tourist activities including mountain biking, kayaking and driving around on a scooter. From Ko Pan Ngan you can continue your journey to Kah Yao. The two islands of Kah Yao (Yao Yao Noi and Yai) are in the Phang Nga Bay near Phuket. Right next to these islands is the famous James Bond Island where the movie The Man With The Golden Gun has been filmed.

Koh Phangan has also a lot of beautiful tropical island beaches. A must visit is the Ban Tai Beach. This is a long beach in the south-west of Koh Phangan from where you can even see Koh Samui. Haad Rin Beach is a nice wide beach located in the south of Koh Phangan. From here you can admire the full moon party as well. Here you will find many restaurants and local shops. Mae Haad Beach on the other side is a quiet and small beach situated on the nort-west of Koh Phangan. If the tide is low you can walk to the island of Koh Maa.

Thong Nai Pan Bay is one of the many beautiful bays located on the island. You can best reach this bay by boat. On the other hand, the smaller Thong Nai Pan Yai is also a beautiful tourist destination. Last but not least is the Tae Nai island, located approximately 400 meters away from the Thong Sala and the beach is beautiful and it's fun to see the caves. The two islands of Koh Yao are the largest of Phang Nga. You can enjoy peace, tranquility and peace again. Everything here is slow and relaxed and the population here has remained authentic in contrast to the more remote Phuket.

On the island there are a number of good roads leading up to all the tourist sites. You can also rent a scooter and go exploring the whole island. Koh Phangan is easily accessible from Bangkok. You can take a flight to Koh Samui and take the boat. From Bangkok you can get a train or bus to Surat Thani where you can catch a boat to Koh Phangan. The closest airport to Koh Phangan is Ko Samui which has frequent daily flights from Bangkok and Phuket.
