International Travel and Visa Requirements
Visas are required for all nationals with the exception of nationals of the 33 countries including the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Luxemburg, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Italy, Sweden, Austria, Norway, Portugal, Vatican City, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Finland, Spain, Monaco, Iceland, San Marino, Andorra and Liechtenstein, United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and GCC countries including Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Residents of these countries will be issued with visit visa valid for 60 days on entry to the UAE.
Citizens of the 33 countries mentioned above can obtain a free of cost visit visa on arrival. Tourist visas for UAE are valid for 30 days from date of entry and two months from date of issue. Tourist visas can be issued by the hotel that you are staying in or through a local travel company. Tourist visas can be extended on request for up to a maximum of 90 days at the local immigration office. If you are passing through the United Arab Emirates airports, you can obtain a special 96 hour transit visa. You must be sponsored by an airline operating in the UAE and you must have a valid ticket for your onward flight.
